Purpose of Life

What is the purpose of life? What are we, as humans, meant to do with this short period of time that we spend on earth? Is it to cry about our losses? Weep about the past? Dwell upon our short comings? Or take upon the challenges that we stumble over in life, and enjoy every moment of it?!
Many a time in life, we get to that point where we think, that we no longer have a reason to live. Might be a bad break up, or a loss of a family member or friend, or a traumatic experience. Or maybe, its none of these..
I, for one, have never experienced the first two (there were a few traumatic experiences, but we'll cover that later). I have never thought to myself, that I no longer have a reason to live, not because I'm always a happy-go-lucky person, but because I really don't know if I ever had a reason to live. Which brings us back to my original question, "what is the purpose of life?"
What is our reason for survival? If you ask a musician that question, he would probably answer that music was his reason for survival. Ask a politician, he would answer that he was born to be a leader. A social worker would say that his purpose in life was to improve the living conditions of certain sections of society. These are the kind of people I find hard to understand. Not because they are politicians and social workers, but because they are so sure about what they are meant to do, or meant to be, in life. How do you just know that?!
All my life I have been confused. I've never been able to make a proper decision. I keep changing my mind. I keep wishing and telling myself that, someday I'll just know what I'm supposed to do. I'll just know which road to take. And I pray everyday that, that day may come soon.
